A Doorman was kicked in the groin after he detained a drunken woman who had caused almost £1,000 worth of damage to his motorbike, a court heard.

Kelly Mellor, 20, of Burlow Road, Harpur Hill, admitted damaging the BMW motorbike, damaging a Vauxhall Astra and assaulting Timothy Jones, all on May 4.

Rosemary Lake, prosecuting, told High Peak magistrates on Monday that Mellor had been asked to leave the bike alone by Mr Jones who was working as a doorman nearby.

"Kelly left the scene but was followed by Mr Jones.

"He had seen her kick over the bike and detained her in a shop doorway. For his trouble he was hit several times in the groin by Mellor."

When interviewed Mellor admitted kicking Mr Jones because he had hold of her arms.

Russell Wild, defending, said: "This was a drunken episode in the early hours of the morning.
